  1. Hi Evie, Hey Brent,

    LOVED this interview.
I always appreciate it when it’s clarified that freelancing isn’t just about writing.

I feel these days, consultants are becoming more of a necessity. With so many people going out on their own, it sure helps to have someone to guide you. It can easily come in handy for just about anything you decide to go into.

Very inspiring story. I’ll happily check out your site, Evie.

Have a fantastic rest of the week – both of you 🙂

    • Thanks for checking out our interview, Dana!

I agree — it’s nice to see freelancers and contractors doing something aside from writing. Nothing wrong with freelance writing… I just think too many people believe it’s the only route to go to build an online, service-based business.

      Chat soon,

    • Thanks so much Dana! I think for years I sat at my desk thinking “I would do this differently” or “I can do this better” – working for myself has really let me put that energy in motion. There are a lot of services out there that can be done as a one-person show. I feel like a lot of seasoned agency / 9-5ers have similar feelings to what I had for so long. It’s really just seeing an opportunity to make it happen (sometimes it’s more of the universe pushing you, verses you making the jump).

Thanks so much for your comment!!

  2. Hey Brent,

    Great interview with Evie.

One thing I really agree with is the authenticity. Sometimes standing out really means not fitting in. Otherwise, yo’ll just be like everyone else. That goes for any and every profession.

    – Andrew

    • Hey Andrew! YES! Authenticity can really open any door for you. I like to pair mine with some genuine earnestness and blind confidence 🙂

But in all seriousness, I do not think there is enough emphasis in the professional agency world on being yourself and finding your own voice and drum beat to grow to.
